Connecting you with information to inspire change
Why are you here?
Why do so many people want to work for themselves? Simply put, most people want the financial and time freedom that is often associated with self-employment or owning a business. But what does financial and time freedom really mean? Financial freedom means you are not dependent on a traditional job to make a living. Time freedom means you have the ability to do what you want when you want, without it affecting your income.
Although many people dream of being business owners, the statistics show that very few actually take the steps necessary to achieve it. Those who do venture out are typically taking a big risk. According the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 20% of small businesses fail within the first year; by the end of their fifth year, roughly 50% are shuttered. And after 10 years, the survival rate is around 33%! Many who explore the option are scared away by high startup costs and/or the reality of massive loans. You want to secure your future, not mortgage it!
Most people give up on this dream, not because of lack of desire, but because they lack knowledge, the required startup capital, and the willingness to try something different. But in the 21st century, you don’t have to cash out your 401K to follow your dream; you can find ways to be a business owner with minimal startup costs, low monthly overhead and uncapped earning potential.
Where do you want to be?
If you are part of the 70% that has dreamed of having time and financial freedom, what are you currently doing about it? Many people see a gap between their current circumstances and their aspirations. Whether you realize it or not, that gap will cause a tension in your life, and it will only close in one of two ways. Either you will close it by moving towards your dreams or it will close when you give up on your dreams.
Time will continuing moving forward no matter what steps you take.
The question you need to ask yourself is, “After 5 years, will I be any closer to my dreams, goals and ambitions doing the same things I am doing now, or do I need to do something drastically differently?”
